Prisciliano Sánchez (1783-1826). Partidario del liberalismo y del sistema federal, participó en el primer Congreso Constituyente de 1822, formó parte de la primera Legislatura de Jalisco y posteriormente se convirtió en el primer gobernador del estado. Fue partidario de que los estados pudieran regirse por sí mismos, su labor al frente de Jalisco sentó las bases para la organización gubernamental que continúa hasta nuestros días.
